Project synopsis“Fred Ingrams is a maverick, an artist who has discovered beauty in a landscape where others see monotony and isolation.” Following a commission to design a visual identity for Nick Holmes FINE ART, the studio was approached to design and art direct the catalogue for the inaugural exhibition.
An almost cyclical rhythm runs through the catalogue with a regularity in the deviation of each artwork’s positioning from spread to spread. Bookended by uncoated stocks, the exhibited works are reproduced on a smooth silk paper to accentuate the vibrancy of Ingrams’ colours.
When viewed from the side, an yellow-orange band runs though the bookblock echoing the bold streaks that interject Ingrams’ landscapes. The cover features foiled lettering and de-bossed region with adhesive silk insert.
